๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Rabbi Elazar of Rabbi Elimelech Weissblum of Raischa, may his merit protect us, passed away on the 15th of Tammuz in the year 5780. He was born in the year 5508 to his father, Rabbi Elimelech of Ruzhyn, the grandson of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk. He was orphaned by his father and mother at a young age.

At the age of 11, he studied with Rabbi Dovid of Medzhybizh, the author of "Tzemach Dovid," and from there he traveled to be under the guidance of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, the author of "Divrei Chaim." He esteemed and loved "Divrei Chaim" more than his own offspring and was allowed to enter his presence at any time. Rabbi Chaim appointed him as his grandson's teacher and they established regular study sessions together. He later studied with Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Shinova and was considered a close disciple.

He received rabbinic ordination in "Yoreh Yoreh Yadin Yadin" from great scholars, including the genius Rabbi Chaim Tzalezer Wax, who possessed a vivid soul. After the passing of his holy teacher in the year 5616, he left Tzanz and served as a rabbi in the cities of Bikaovsk and Pshavyorsk.

He gained a reputation as a lover of Israel and a doer of miracles, and as such, he was requested by Hasidim and people of action in the community of Raischa to spend Shabbat in their midst. Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Shinova testified about him, saying that he was granted a special power from Heaven for the healing of the sick among the people of Israel. He performed wonders that concealed his true abilities, as if he utilized the wisdom of medicine with the knowledge of experts, understanding that "the language of sages is effective." The remedies he provided were only intended to hide the actions of the righteous.

He engaged in excessive fasting during the year, known for his nighttime studies. It was known that he slept no more than two to three hours a day, and even during this short time, he would wake up every fifteen minutes to wash his hands out of his piety. He never slept more than the minimal amount required, so that impurity would not overcome him through sleep. He authored the book "Mishneh l'Melech" on the Torah and the holidays.

In the last winter of his life, in the year 5630, he commanded to set up his father's tent in Sakalov, saying, "Because a great light will come in the summer." He conversed with his friend, the Hasidic Rabbi Shimon Patlischer, may he rest in peace, and told him, "When I depart from this world, they will hide me as they hide chametz on Friday evening in the oven quickly" (and indeed, that's what happened...). A few hours before his departure, he lay on his deathbed with closed eyes, tightly bound to the supreme attachment, and they saw that he sanctified and purified himself, preparing to return his soul to its Creator. Suddenly, he opened his eyes as if awakening from sleep and loudly proclaimed, "Welcome, my father-in-law, welcome, our teacher, and so on..." Thus, he received the heavenly assembly, the holy souls that descended from above to accompany his pure soul.

Immediately afterwards, the holy ark was kissed, and his soul ascended in holiness and purity to his father's house on the holy Shabbat eve, the 15th of Tammuz in the year 5630. It is said that one of his disciples who was involved in his burial had a dream a few days after his passing. Rabbi Elazar appeared to him and said, "You think you carried me to my burial place in Sakalov, but the holy light of life carried me." Indeed, he passed away on the day of the holy Shabbat. His merit shall protect us. Amen.
