🇺🇸 Transcription of the daily lesson - 15th of Tammuz, 5782:

Today is the anniversary of the HaOr HaChaim Haqadoch. Everyone should go to Tzion now, let's go to Tzion immediately after the evening prayer in another 10 minutes.

And the lion escaped from the zoo. They didn't keep him, they opened the door and went to search for him all over the city, in every Casablanca. They found him near HaOr HaChaim Haqadoch, like some cat listening to his lesson, he listens to him reading the Zohar and he is fascinated, thinking that this is a cat.

And so he had many miracles to HaOr HaChaim Haqadoch. The Baal Shem Tov said that he is the Machiach, the son of David, who had to bring redemption. He wanted to meet him in the land of Israel. The Baal Shem Tov said, "Wherever I go, he is no longer found in all the worlds. I am searching for him in heaven and I cannot find him. I am trying to find him, but he was already in all the palaces." So I am traveling to the land of Israel to find him, but he did not know that he had to go naked without a coat, only a shirt and pants (that's what our Rabbi did when he traveled to the land). And then he could reach the land of Israel and find HaOr HaChaim Haqadoch, and then the general secret was revealed. It had to be precisely at the emergence of Shabbat, because this could not happen on Shabbat, only on Sunday. By then, in the land of Israel, it was already two hours after the washing of hands of the three meals (in the Diaspora, wherever the Baal Shem Tov was, and then he knew that HaOr HaChaim Haqadoch had departed because this secret was revealed only to one person at a time).

Yezebel was just dancing all day! Serach, the daughter of Asher, was dancing and singing,

"Yosef is still alive and he is the ruler in Egypt, he has two sons, Menashe and Ephraim."

🇺🇸 Prayer of the Holy Light of Life

"May it be Your will, our Father, our King, our God, the delight of our souls, spirits, and beings, for the sake of Your covenant that You made with the thirteen attributes that never return empty before You, remember our love and our affection, and return the dwelling of Your Divine Presence to our holy home. May it delight in us as in the days of old, for Your separation from us is difficult, like the separation of our souls from our bodies, our silence from our eyes, and our souls yearn for the redemption of Your Divine Presence and the dwelling of Your sanctity.

According to Your will, O Lord, we longingly present ourselves, we weep before You, O merciful Father, for the exile of the Shekhinah. Save us, O Lord, Your Divine Presence, and let our souls cleave to Your pleasant and vast love. Pour out Your pleasantness upon our souls, spirits, and beings, and may our King ascend to His palace."

HaOhr HAchaim Haqadoch Nitzot Yaakov Avinu

🇺🇸 Tonight, on the eve of the 15th of Tammuz, is the commemoration day of the passing of the revered Rabbi Chaim ben Moshe Ibn Attar, the holy "Or HaChaim."

The holy "Or HaChaim" reveals a profound secret and writes that there is a distinction between desire (chashuk) and will (ratzon). Desire pertains to physical cravings, while will pertains to holiness.

Rabbi Nachman of Breslov speaks extensively about the virtue of channeling good desires. Through prayer to God, our Master of the Universe, we express our desire for holiness, our desire to study Torah. However, sometimes a person says these words and doesn't feel complete within themselves. In practice, they feel that they desire material possessions such as an advanced and new car more than they desire Torah study. Here comes the innovation of the holy "Or HaChaim." It teaches that one should recognize that physical desire stems from the physical body, whereas true will comes from the soul, and the soul desires only holy things.

Rav Avitan's clip & summary, please feel free to share.

B'shem Kol Yisrael -

*Hilula of Rabbi Chayim Ben Attar zt’l aka the Holy Or Hachayim (Or HaChayim HaKadosh)- 15th of Tammuz- from Monday  night to Tuesday before sunset*

The day of  Rabbi Chayim Ben Attar zt’l hilula is a very holy day and a BIG Eit Ratson

Starting on Monday after sunset, the 15th of Tammuz, we celebrate the Hilula of the righteous Rabbi Chayim Ben Attar, also known as the ′′Or Hachayim′′ (translation: the light of life), which is also the name of his book. May his merit protect all of am Israel. Amen.

Rabbi Haim Ben Attar, author of the book ‘Or HaChayim, was born over 300 years ago in the city of Saleh in Morocco. He was the descendent of a righteous family originating from Spain, one of the most honorable and important families among the Jews of Morocco, the Ben Attar family. From the Ben Attar family came many holy, righteous and respectable people. Rabbi Haim Ben Attar learned from his grandfather who he was named after. In the opening of his book, the Or HaChayim gives tribute to his grandfather and praises him. The Or HaChayim states that he had the honor of sitting with and learning from his grandfather, the man who he refers to as being humble, righteous, whose name is known in the heavens and whose words and blessings have a lot of power. His grandfather barely slept and spent most of his time learning Torah. The Or HaChayim states that he was honored to ‘drink from his grandfather’s well of water’ which is symbolic for learning from his Torah.

Rabbi Chayim Ben Attar married his father’s cousin’s daughter. Rabbi Chayim’s father in law was the king of Morocco’s advisor and ensured his fellow Jew’s well-being in the country. With time, Rabbi Chayim Ben Attar became known in his city and many wanted to learn from him. Even the young were attracted to his teachings. From a young age, he taught his students Talmud and musar passionately.
Rabbi Chayim Ben Attar spent many years travelling through Europe and during those years he invested a lot of time writing his famous book ‘the Or HaChayim’’ amongst others such as books on halacha, a commentary on the Shas, a book called Peri Toar and another called Rishon LeTsion.

Rabbi Haim Ben Attar zt’l is among the few rabbis who are worthy of the title ′′Kadosh/holy". The Ba’al Shem Tov said of the Or Hachayim that he was to be the Mashiach of his generation.
Many Tsadikim and Mekubalim have discovered big secrets from his teachings.

There is a famous story that one day as the Ba’al Shem tov raised his Neshama (some tsaddikim were known to disconnect from this world and send their soul up to the Heavens) and as his soul was rising, he noticed another soul descending back into this world, but he didn’t know who he was. Time after time every time the Ba’al Shem Tov’s soul rose, the Or Hachayim’s Neshama decended. He finally asked to whom belonged this big soul and the Heavens answered that it was the Or Hachayim. The Ba’al Shem tov understood that the Yetser Hara prevented these two big souls from meeting because if they had met, the Mashiach would have come.

We should take it upon ourselves to light a candle in the Tsadik’s merit (Bizechut) in honor of Or HaChayim’s Hilula.

One can give Tsedaka and learn from the Tsadik’s teachings in order to connect to him on his special day.

There are many segulot about the Or HaChayim HaKadosh. We will try to share some tomorrow morning B’H

I once heard from a Rav that someone who needs as Yeshua should take upon him/herself to learn from the Or HaChayim’s commentaries for as little as 5 minutes a day and he is guaranteed to see miracles. (You can find his commentaries on Sefaria.com)

May the Tsadik’s merit be with us, Amen and Amen
